With a quieter cabin, smoother ride and refreshed interior, it combines family-friendly practicality with a more refined electric driving experience... perfect for exploring New Zealand in comfort.
There's generous room for five adults, along with plenty of luggage space for road trips and longer holidays. Its excellent real-world range makes it well suited to New Zealand's most popular touring routes, while Tesla's intelligent navigation helps plan charging stops along the way.
Premium Connectivity is included, giving you built-in navigation, streaming music and live traffic information.
Full Self-Driving (Supervised) is also included, offering Tesla's latest driver-assistance features while keeping you responsible for the vehicle at all times.
Charging is easy. Every vehicle includes access to Tesla Superchargers and nationwide charging networks (ChargeNet, Zero, BP Pulse, Z Energy, and more), giving you access to over a thousand charging points across New Zealand. Simply plug in and go.
Worried about EV range? Don't be. The 2026 Model Y can comfortably handle almost every road trip in New Zealand. The only route we recommend planning is Te Anau to Milford Sound and back, as there are no charging options in Milford Sound itself.
You can pick up or drop off your rental car anywhere in New Zealand that Air New Zealand flies to. One-way rental charges may (but not always) apply if the pick up and drop off are in different locations.
We'll typically meet you at the airport, handover the vehicle, and then let you continue your adventures. We offer a complimentary door-to-door service: we can deliver and/or collect the vehicle to/from your accomodation.
