We're still trying to figure out where the best area is to stay in Queenstown, we had a nice stay in Lower Shotover: 10-15 minute drive to town, 10-15 minute drive to Arrowtown, and a couple of nice cafes within walking distance (W: the morning walk to get a takeaway coffee is a must-do daily ritual for me!). The Airbnb host recommended 11th Avenue to us, been there a few times now, it's consistently good and well-loved by the locals.
